BIOGRAPHY

Carrie Thompson, MD, MS, is a board-certified hematology physician at Mayo Clinic in and Associate Fellowship Director in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester.

Dr. Thompson is a Fellow in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science Academy of Educational Excellence (2020) and a member of the Mayo Clinic Mayo Accelerate Leadership Program (2019). She serves in multiple leadership roles including Chair of the Hematology Inpatient Education, Hematology/Oncology Clinical Competency, and Internal Medicine Graduate Medical Training Committees and Program Director and Associate Chair for Education (Executive Committee) in the Department of Internal Medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education.

Dr. Thompson is a Founding Member of Women in Lymphoma and a member of the Knowledge Content Board at Ask Mayo Expert. She is the recipient of a Teacher of the Year Award (Internal Medicine) in the Department of Education Administration given by the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science (2015).

She has authored or coauthored at least 104 peer-reviewed journal articles. Dr Thompson’s clinical research focus includes Hodgkin lymphoma and non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
