Caitlin Costello, MD, is a board-certified hematology and medical oncology physician in the Bone and Marrow Transplantation Program and an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of California San Diego in San Diego, California.
She serves as Medical Director of Blood and Marrow Transplant Clinic Operations, Co-Leader of the Blood and Marrow Transplant Disease Team, and Multiple Myeloma Disease Team Leader at University of California San Diego, where she is also a member and Scholar of the Health Leadership Academy. Dr Costello serves on the Clinic Medical Director Executive Committee at the University of California San Diego Moores Cancer Center. She is a member of the Multiple Myeloma, Waldenström Macroglobulinemia, and Systemic Amyloidosis Guidelines Panels for the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. She is a member of the Clinical Practice Guideline Panel for Treatment of Multiple Myeloma and the Hematologic Malignancies and Stem Cell Transplantation Scientific Committee for the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) as well as a member of the Multiple Myeloma Education Committee for the American Society of Hematology (ASH).
Dr Costello is an ad hoc journal reviewer for the American Association for Cancer Research, Clinical Lymphoma, Myeloma & Leukemia, and The Lancet Hematology. Dr Costello has authored or coauthored at least 27 peer-reviewed journal articles and at least 1 book chapter. She is a member of ASCO, ASH, and the American Society for Transplantation and Cellular Therapy. Dr Costello’s clinical research focus includes multiple myeloma and hematologic malignancies.
